On the ocasion of the 175th jubelee of the Kunstverein, Ohio develops the exhibition 'e.V.' , which deals with the theme of the 'Verein' (German for social club).
The 'Verein' is a small cell of society, where private and public interests meet and as a political phenomenon, it has its roots in the bourgois emanzipation of the 19th century. Today it is more associated with leisuretime, where interest driven work and social energy converge. Ohio invites 25 different social clubs from around Düsseldorf to hand in photographic material to be presented in the exhibition. In a large installation, around 1000 images and 11 videos of the different clubs are selected and shown as slide projections on the back of vitrines and on monitors.
